About me

Steven M. Pepa is a regional partner, coordinating the Belgrade, Bucharest and Nicosia offices. He is the co-head of the corporate practice and of the CEE fly-squad of the firm, providing coverage throughout Emerging Europe.

With over 20 years of experience in developed and emerging markets in both common law and continental civil law jurisdictions, Steven has been a member of, or has led, extensive deal teams in Canada, the United States, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Steven has resided in Emerging Europe since 2004. He has held positions (many of which were senior) in some of the most prestigious international legal practices: Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, McCarthy T├ętrault, Linklaters, Wolf Theiss and White & Case.

As a result of his background and experience, Steven is familiar with the concerns and approaches of Anglo-American lawyers and western investors, as well as with the practical approaches and issues that arise under civil law systems such as those in emerging market jurisdictions.

With a focus on Emerging Europe, Steven is uniquely positioned to offer clients international standard advice in the context of a highly geographically and culturally diverse region.
